Start planning that island getaway—Norwegian Cruise Lines will set sail from the city starting in 2026, the first cruise line to have a home port in Philadelphia in nearly 15 years. The Norwegian Jewel will sail to Bermuda beginning in April of 2026.
“As the first passenger cruise line to homeport in Philadelphia in many years, the arrival of Norwegian Jewel is a key milestone for NCL and our partners at the Port of Philadelphia,” said David J. Herrera, president of Norwegian Cruise Line. “We are looking forward to welcoming guests from the area and surrounding cities starting spring 2026 and offering them the vacation of a lifetime.”
The Jewel can accommodate up to 2,300 passengers and will embark on seven to nine day journeys to Bermuda. The ship will dock for a night on the island, allowing passengers to experience the beauty of Bermuda’s turquoise waters and pink sand beaches. The cruises will sail from the SouthPort Marine Terminal Complex starting April 16, 2026 and will offer Bermuda itineraries through August 27, 2026.
“The Port of Philadelphia is extremely excited to partner with Norwegian Cruise Line, one of the world’s premier cruise lines,” added Jeff Theobald, PhilaPort’s executive director and CEO. “Philadelphia has so much to offer, as the birthplace of freedom and the home to much of our nation’s history, we look forward to connecting cruisers with our world class city.”
From September to October, the Norwegian Jewel will sail 10 and 11-day trips to Canada and New England.
Cruise industry trends show that cruise passengers are booking their trips earlier and earlier. You can get a head start on your island getaway, as Bermuda itineraries are available for booking now on the Norwegian website.
