A few weeks ago, we were all but robbed of free water ice day at Rita’s, when that nor'easter rolled through on the first day of spring—a day the local-started business has been giving out gratis treats for years.
Today, we’re happy to report, you’ll get a second chance at a free chilly delight. Today, from noon to 8pm, Ben & Jerry’s is handing out free cones at select locations during its 40th-annual Free Cone Day.
You don’t have to buy a single thing to get your complimentary treat and, as a cherry on top, there’s no limit to the amount of visits you make to a single shop—you’ll get free ice cream again and again and again. All you have to do is walk in.
There are two locations in town offering the deal: the Rittenhouse Square spot at 1726 Sansom Street, and at UPenn in West Philly, at 218 S 40th Street. You can check out this nifty map to find other locations if you happen to be reading from outside of town.
It’s a gorgeous day to lap up some free ice cream, with temps promising to hit the 50s and only get warmer (79 on Saturday!) as we inch toward the weekend. Enjoy!
