It is one thing to make the complex seem effortlessly simple. It is another, Rube Goldberg-ian, thing to imagine complicated gadgets that perform simple tasks. Such was the artistic niche that the cartoonist and illustrator penciled for himself, drawing fantastical inventions for quotidian use. This retrospective chronicles his 72 year career, from never-exhibited early drawings to his late, Pulitzer winning political cartoons.
