Swimmers at Scarborough beach no longer need to settle on Paddlepops for their post-water sugar fix. Artisan chocolaterie, patisserie and gelateria Cocolat is setting up shop at the Scarborough Beach Pool with their range of all things sweet and indulgent.
This is the first time the Cocolat dessert wizards have ventured into the West, having established a popular following in their home state of South Australia. What sets Cocolat apart from other dessert venues is their diversity. Sure their forte might be chocolate, but on their seasonal menu you’ll also find savoury and all day breakfast options.
Got something to celebrate? Order one of Cocolat’s cakes: the ‘Wild Thing’ is easily the most impressive with its fortress of chocolate walls and toffee spires (you can also buy it as a single serve). On a hot summer’s day however you're more likely to be eyeing off their range of award-winning gelato. With 24 flavours to choose from as well as shakes and sundaes you’re definitely going to need a breather before hitting the water again.
You can also buy straight up chocolate as well – their dark chocolate, port and apricot creation might be called a ‘guilt bar’ but we doubt you’ll regret a thing.
