The historic Fisherman's Co-op building has had a do-over, now containing a 300-seater diner and bar a mere shell's throw from the sands of Bathers Beach. Here, English-born chef Ross Tyre is serving an impressive seafood platter with whole reef fish and crab as well as mussels, octopus, garlic prawns and oysters.
Share plates include steamed buns, pepper berry kangaroo and lamb chops. Mains are old reliables from ribs, seared salmon and sirloin to prawn linguni, caesar salad and fish and chips. Beers come in middies pints; Eagle Bay Kulch and Nail Red Ale are among the craft offerings. Grab a spot under an umbrella and watch the sun set over the Indian.
