Enjoying possibly the best spot in Perth for a sunset brew, Clancy’s at City Beach is the flashier relative of the Freo original. Indian Ocean views don’t come much better than this when you're close to the city, especially while you enjoy a craft beer or cider from a range of WA regulars like Feral, Nail and Last Drop. The wine list is substantial with an almost entirely Australian selection, plus a couple of New Zealand and French offerings.
Food is classic Clancy’s: sustainable seafood and sharing platters, alongside mains such as porcini and blue cheese risotto, miso pork belly and pepperberry kangaroo fillet.
The additional side café (open from 7am) is a prime spot for catching the sunrise over breakfast delights such as spiced basmati rice with coconut salsa and egg; chipotle smoked chicken, avocado, lime ricotta, sweet potato corn fritters and poached egg; or warm banana bread, raspberries, vanilla panna cotta, pistachio crumble and raspberry dust.
Wednesday is trivia night from 7pm, along with a special offer: a bowl of chilli mussels and a pint for 20 bucks. On weekends it's live music ahoy, with the smooth sounds of jazz and blues setting the scene by the sand.
