Despite what its name may suggest, Tho Yuen is widely patronised for its dim sum, instead of its chicken rice. While Tho Yuen’s chicken rice definitely transcends mediocrity and is one of the better ones around, its dim sum, ranging from the egg tarts to the har gao (shrimp dumpling), outshines it. Further adding to the irony is the fact that another one of Tho Yuen’s specialties is its steamed fish head with vermicelli, with a garnish of onions, ginger, spring onion and chilli. Conclusively, it can be said that Tho Yuen offers a great selection of good food, for the dim sum, noodles and chicken rice lovers.
