Most of Penang’s vegetarian joints serve either Chinese or Indian vegetarian cuisine, so Permai Village Cafe provides a much needed alternative for the ethically conscientious out there, with its offering of meat-free Western and Asian delicacies. In fact, Permai Village is as much lauded for its desserts, namely, its tiramisu and its lime jelly, as it is for its food. The nasi lemak is especially highly championed by its regulars and highly sought after; it is only available on Wednesdays and Saturdays so it would be wise to call in to reserve a few if you’re planning to check in.
