Spacious and trendy, this café prides itself with the single origin coffee they serve, food made mainly from scratch and homemade cakes. With their fully equipped kitchen acting as a food laboratory, the café’s three proprietors and their cook experiment with recipes for soups, flavoured syrups for coffee and most of what appears on their menu while cakes are homemade off the premises but no less attention is paid to their recipes, mind!
Bestsellers here, besides their pleasant, well-balanced coffees of lattes, cappuccinos and long blacks, are the RM6.50 per bowl pumpkin and the RM8.50 per bowl wild mushroom soup that come with unlimited slices of baguette. Another is their toasted, crispy-at-the-edges bagel sandwich with fillings such as smoked salmon and tuna mayo.
Entertaining murals on the walls of the cafe
There are a wider variety of homemade cakes here compared to their smaller Gurney Paragon branch, from the sinful chocolaty variety to their ever popular walnut carrot and red velvet ones coated in sublime cream cheese.
As proud as they are of their coffees, they do offer hot or cold chocolate drink and masala tea that’s made the original way with fresh milk rather than condensed milk. Between perfect sips of the made-with-love beverage of your choice here, take a look at the scribbles and drawings on their walls for entertainment. Or inspiration, depending on how you choose to look at it, of course! Su Aziz
