Built in 1897 with the funds from a generous benefactor, Cheah Chen Eok, this commanding sight was built to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee. It is 60-feet high to match the number of years of Her Majesty’s reign and leading up to the clock tower are six steps to match the number of decades Her Majesty reigned for.
