Established in 1805, the Penang Jewish cemetery is believed to be the oldest Jewish cemetery in Malaysia - the oldest tombstone dates back to 1835. There are approximately 107 graves, most of which resemble ossuaries that are commonly found in Israel. The most recent tombstone dates 2011 and is incidentally the grave of the last ethnic Jew on the Island.
