Batu Maung Fishing Village

This close-knit community can be found on the south eastern tip of Penang island. Top tip: it’s famous for the strange and mysteriously large footprint located on a boulder on the beach. While the origins of the foot print differ (the Chinese believe it was the footprint of Admiral Cheng Ho and the Indians believe it was left behind by the monkey god Hanuman), the sight and the village is a nice respite from the hustle and bustle of George Town.
