When? Once a week
What? Screenings of French films with English subtitles.
Where? Independent cinemas around Paris
Even if you have a high level of French, it can often be tricky to follow the dialogue in fast-paced French films. ‘Lost in Frenchlation’ was started for exactly this reason, hosting monthly screenings of French films with English subtitles in independent cinemas around the capital. On the programme, you can expect a mix of French classics and contemporary blockbusters – mostly familiar-ish stuff – but these events are about more than just the films. A cocktail hour before each screening offers attendees to make friends with fellow film-lovers and encourages interactions between the international community and native Parisians. Tickets can normally be bought on the door but for more information visit their website or Facebook page.
