If you’re looking for a Christmas mega-market like the one at the Arche de la Défense, stay away. Christmas at the Place des Abbesses in Montmartre is on a smaller scale than most, but it’s all the more charming for it. Outside the Abbesses station with its famous art nouveau framework, the charm of this market is that of a little festive jumble sale, as sellers from the Lepic-Abbesses quartier inhabit the 20 or so on-site chalets for the month. Keep your eye out for regular children’s shows throughout December.
