It has been nearly thirty-five years since les Cousins d’Alice started to get kids reading, and their coloured shop-window guarded by Alice (in Wonderland) first attracted the eye of curious kids. Half toy shop, half children’s library, this boutique set up at the corner of the Rue Daguerre has shelves full of good finds: an ecological rocket, a potato clock to assemble, hot pink skipping ropes (€9.40), dragons for the bath and pirate costumes for dress up parties (€40). On the books side, everything is classified by theme and by age, so you can get lost in sections called things like 'Goblins' and 'Fairytales and wonders'.
