The flagship Kilo-Shop branch is a subterranean treasure trove of vintage clothing and accessories of every conceivable type, colour and size. The strict organisation here is a huge part of the appeal, quite apart from the astonishing range. Everything is thoroughly categorised and colour-tagged by weight – as the name suggests, you pay by the kilo. Green tags are €30/kilo, red €20/kilo, and so on, which works out quite reasonably – 501s weigh in at around €14, a 1.5kg fur coat at around €45. Warning – you'll likely lose hours and emerge with a whole new outfit, or several.
Something of an institution (it even has its own magazine) there are plenty of other Kilo-Shop branches around the city: 65 Rue de la Verriere, 4e – 125 Blvd Saint Germain, 6e – 85 Rue St Martin, 4e – 11 Rue de la Roquette, 11e – 11 Rue Saint Denis, 1e
