Illogicall Music is that rare thing: a Parisian record shop that doesn't try to cover all bases with a ragbag selection of artists and genres. It knows what it is – a shrine to major-league pop stars from the '60s to the '90s – and performs its role with aplomb. The best-represented artists are Madonna, Britney, Jacko, Serge Gainsbourg and a handful of big Gallic names that few outside France will have heard of. Fans come here to peruse their back catalogues, from familiar hits to tacky merchandise and impossibly obscure B-side compilations. The bright purple storefront says it all: at Illogicall Music, passion conquers good taste.
