Orchestrated by Martine, originally a New Yorker, the Chine Machine boutique is wonderfully eccentric: old mannequins with blue lipstick, old television sets, framed photographs of stars from way back when, all set against new wave background music. But if the walls are hung with tunics made entirely of bells and knee-high boots with gilded fringes, the racks offer items suitable for any wardrobe. This is beautiful, classic vintage, and you can find dresses for €3, jackets for €15 and leather bags for €7. Sometimes even big brand names are reasonable, like Kenzo shoes for €20 or a Hermès coat for €140.
Unlike most dépôts-ventes, they take clothes in direct exchange for cash. The shop also organises parties around once a month, for small groups with a DJ. Find out more on their Facebook page.
