Babel Concept Store

This high-end ‘concept store’ near the Canal Saint Martin brings together trendy new items from independent designers and a charming assortment of second-hand objects. With its painstakingly curated and imaginatively done out interior, the light and airy Babel has something of a cabinet of curiosities about it.

On the shelves, you’ll find various eccentric printed t-shirts (€35-€60), Marseille soap, tote bags, new and second-hand jewellery, leather accessories, Art Deco crockery, religious emblems and flowery hats. For the ecologically minded, the shop also offers various soft, responsibly tanned Veloutine bags and luxury items from the French Faguo brand (for each bag bought, a tree is planted).
