With its fun aquarium décor and pink tablecloths, Thai House is one of those little neighbourhood favourites that’s easy to overlook, but a roaring success once it’s been tried. Both Thai and Laotian flavours are represented in the soups, salads, meat dishes and an enormous range of fish and seafood. The classic spring rolls and noodles are excellent, but here it’s worth experimenting with the Thai salads, heavy with beef or prawns marinated in lemon and chilli. A fun main dish allows you to cook your own beef with basil or spiced duck over a heated grill at the table, while the red and green curries are served inside hollowed-out fresh pineapples.
Dishes are around €7-€12 (rice is extra), and the pavement seating is an extra bonus on warm evenings. Try and book ahead on weekend nights, as word about Thai House spreads quickly.
