For who? Meat lovers and Italian cuisine aficionados
What to order? The mega 800g T-Bone steak and a few cocktails on the side
The sixth episode of the love story continues: after the roaring successes of Ober Mamma, East Mamma, Mamma Primi, Victor Lugger and Tigrane Seydoux - the two shrewd owners - have now launched Pink Mamma, the latest address in south Pigalle. The recipe? Always the same: a bustling queue of eager fans anticipating freshly sourced ingredients imported directly from Italy and waiters as authentic as any you'll find in Rome.
The new stuff? There are two things which really stand out. First of all the place: the massive 4-floored building, each level with its own identity from the street level to the rooftops. We strongly advise you to check out the speakeasy-esque basement, where you can sip on high octane Italian cocktails; or check out the very top floor, a glasshouse bathed in a green light and sprawling ivy.
The second is the menu. Dishes are as lively as ever, and filled with the usual ingredients - superb truffle pasta with mascarpone (€18), or the bolognaise with crazy-good meatballs (€14), and of course, burrata a-go-go. However it's the meat that really wins here. The T-Bone Fiorentina steak (€24) is cooked on the grill, matured for at least 30 days beforehand, and therefore, ultra tender, albeit a bit salty. Thankfully the ample wine and sexy cocktail list help everything slide down nicely. Another sure-fire hit.
