Improvising with dinner choices on Saint-Michel can be as risky as trying to buy a present on Christmas Eve. Panicked and hopeless, you’ll probably end up with something average and overpriced. So obviously, when you finally find a good place, you’re going to keep coming back. With a plain white front displaying perfectly crispy, golden-skinned peking duck, it’s an unpretentious space with occasionally friendly service. But this is a Saint-Michel institution, and we’re here for good Chinese cooking.
No need to peruse the massive menu - our order has not changed for 10 years: prawn dumpling soup (with beautifully flavoured broth and succulent prawn-filled packages, this must be the best of its kind in Paris); whole Peking duck, and spicy Singapore-style vermicelli noodles. Great fresh food, generous helpings, and fairly priced.
