The Maison des Trois Thés offers 1000 varieties of tea, and harbours one of the biggest tea cellars in the world in which 500 vintage teas are aging at time. You’ll need to ring the doorbell to get inside, where beyond the discreet shop front you’ll find a fragrant space that recalls 1930s Shanghai – red brick interior, high tables, old waxed furniture, sandstone teapots and porcelain cups. The owner, Maître Tseng, is a renowned tea expert and seeks out the very best oriental blends for her stock: for €20, you can even attend an authentic Asian tea ceremony in the Gong Fu style. The tea is sold in pretty boxes of all sizes, decorated with calligraphy, and though the leaves may be expensive, the shop is well worth a visit.
