Wander around the Place d’Italie in the 13th arrondissement and you’ll immediately be struck by the number of Chinese and Vietnamese restaurants in the area. But while there are a lot of places to choose from here, Hao Hao is the place to go if you’re heading to the area late. The plastic shop front doesn’t exactly scream friendly warmth or gastronomic luxury, but you’re not here for haute cuisine – rather, simple, filling Chinese and Vietnamese comfort food.
There are around 150 dishes on the menu, but we opt for the classics: zesty pork spring rolls, a crispy roast duck and moreish stir fried noodles (served with either prawns or pork). The food is fresh and the portions generous – what more could you want after a boozy night out?
