Welcome to Afrik’N’Fusion, an African fast-food diner near Père Lachaise, complete with leather booths and white and orange floor tiles. There’s not a whiff of of frites here though – instead it’s alokos, plaintain baked in oil with a sweet onion chutney or chilli paste for the more robust of palates. It’s a big portion and the perfect dish to soothe a hangover. Although the chicken in the mafé's a little scant, the dakatin sauce (unsweetened peanut butter and tomato concentrate) is full of flavour. Avoid the tilapia (freshwater fish) which smelt and tasted frankly unpleasant. Rice is cooked perfectly so as long as you make the right choice, this is great stop for filling up when you’re bored of the usual takeaway grub.
