Time Out says

Hidden by the tourist-trap fountains outside the Centre Pompidou and the bars that surround them, the Eglise Saint-Merry is worth hunting out in order to discover its architecture and cultural programmes. Since 1975 the Accueil Libre association (entirely funded by financial and artistic donations) has put on two concerts here a week – the perfect opportunity to discover the interior of this magnificent, flamboyant gothic edifice.

Entry is free, so there's no reason not to wander the nave and admire the stained glass to the strains of some classical music – though if Bach or Rachmaninov aren't your thing, look out for occasional appearances by Armenian, Chinese, Indian, jazz and rock music on the programme.
