The place is in one of the most popular locations with visitors to Paris – it’s filled with boutiques, galleries, bars and restaurants. Major institutions like the Pompidou Centre and Notre Dame are little more than a 15-minute walk away.
The foyer of the building is an impressive sight, with a painted fresco across the walls and ceiling. All the rooms here are kitted out with free wi-fi, a flatscreen TV and a private bathroom. (Which, if you ask us, is a pretty cool feature.) Some rooms also have a seating area. A continental breakfast is served each morning.
Neighbourhood:
The Marais is one of the oldest – if not the oldest – district of Paris, with pre-Haussmann streets that date back to medieval times. Culture vultures can run amok throughout the endless galleries, museums and historical institutions here.
Nearby:
Musée Picasso, a gallery devoted to the artist who made Paris his home for the majority of his long life.
Le Wood, a chic drinking spot on the Place Thorigny that serves up mean cocktails.
Time Out tip: Each bathroom has its very own hot tub – drop into a local supermarche on the way back here, and pick up a bottle of champers!
