This newly established luxury hotel is an entire universe – located a short distance from the Golden Triangle, in the Les Halles area (which has been long deprived of high-end hotels). Housed in a Haussmannian building, it used to play host the headquarters of the eponymous brand, Céline, although its name mainly refers to the owner Céline Falco.
From a family entrenched in the hotel business for nearly a century, the first thing you see is the bar stamped with the giant ‘Maison Albar’ logo. In addition to the super friendly welcome, the sublime minimalist-meets-haute luxe decor is worth mentioning. Think white walls, pastel colours, skilful lighting and materials like wood, stone, leather, copper and velour.
The 60 rooms are stunning, especially the 1923; a rooftop duplex with a 180-degree view over Paris with massive mesmerising windows. Further boxes are ticked with the art deco furniture and techonology pluses including a universal remote (for the curtains, TV, music and lights). The hotel also offers high quality services including a Cinq Mondes spa and a wonderful pool area, hammam and jacuzzi. And the dishes at the Rostang Père et Filles-owned restaurant, Odette, are well thought out, healthy and an absolute steal at lunchtime (€22 for the set menu). It fair to say this is one of the most beautiful Parisian hotel openings of 2017.
