With the 2024 Summer Olympics fast approaching, Seine-Saint-Denis’s proximity to the Stade de France and adjacent aquatic centre will tempt Parisians and tourists beyond the city’s ring road into this bustling part of the city. Even before the Olympics was on the horizon the neighbourhood was already a haunt for music and culture lovers with art venues like Mains d'Œuvres and Le Hasard Ludique and clubs like 6b. The area’s also home to the sublime Saint-Denis basilica, the Cité du Cinéma – one of the best theatres in the city – and the Théâtre Gérard Philipe. Whether you’re coming to Seine-Saint-Denis for the culture and history, or for athletics, rugby and artistic swimming, these hotels will make the perfect pied-à-terre.

The Best Hotels To Book Near Stade De France

Mob Hotel Paris Les Puces

An open-air cinema, organic restaurant, coworking space, terrace and vegetable garden… you’ll find all this and more behind a thick red brick wall hiding this warehouse style hotel. Launched by Cyril Aouizerate (co-founder of the Mama Shelter hotels), MOB Hotel stretches over 92 rooms, but people also come here to eat excellent organic pizzas, join yoga class on the roof or gobble down the 100% organic, vegan menu in its restaurant. It’s also very close to Europe’s laregst flea market.

Where is it? Nestled down a quiet residential street, its well connected to central Paris via metro line 13 – Garibaldi metro station is a five-minute walk away. Plus it's very close to the city’s legendary Marché aux Puces de St-Ouen, reckoned to be Europe's largest.

Which room? Opt for the Mob Terrasse for a slice of sunshine on your very own alfresco terrace, as well as all the perks of a double room including organic cosmetics and eclectic furnishings.

Time Out tip: Look out for the regular Mob comedy club and other events.

Tribe Paris Saint-Ouen

Combining modernity and sophistication at relatively low prices, Paris Saint-Ouen Tribe is a place where you can settle from dawn to dusk. Its central communal space describes itself as a ‘social hub’ with space to sit and eat, sip coffees or cocktails, or relax on the indoor patio. Or hideaway in the Midcentury Modern style all painted in warm orcha and terracotta colours.

Where is it? A stone’s throw from the Stade de France, and just across the road from Mairie de Saint-Ouen metro station for easy access into town.

Which room? Pick a courtyard view for a calmer start to the day.

Time Out tip: Don’t sleep on the hotel breakfasts, all made from carefully selected products from locally roasted coffee, and organic bread to low food-mile produce.

Mob House

After Mob Hotel, there is the Mob House, its four-star sister space located at the foot of the Saint-Ouen flea market. A new spot for slightly thicker wallets, the building is designed by Philippe Starck with 100 rooms all done up in a minimalist Swedish chalet-style: light wood, straw headboards, clay textures. There’s plenty of nifty design features too. On the ground floor, there are comfy rows of sofas and armchairs, a table overflowing with all-you-can-eat snacks, and a designer restaurant named after a locavore grocery store La Feuille de Chou. When the sun’s shining weather, why not check out the heated swimming pool?

Where is it? Just around the corner from sister site Mob Hotel.

Which room? The MH 53T and other rooms on the upper floors have a 180-degree view of Paris.

Time Out tip: You can easily turn your bedroom into an office. The beds are able to disappear behind a blackout panel, giving way to a workspace with power strips and coffee.
