When? February 27-March 2016
What? A huge farm produce convention for agriculture buffs and amateur foodies alike.
Where? The Paris Expo at the Porte de Versailles
After an uproarious showing last year, Le Salon de l’Agriculture returns to the Porte de Versailles for its 2016 edition, from February 27-March 6. This vast annual agricultural trade show is a meeting place for professionals and enthusiasts, as well as a welcoming forum for members of the public of any age; from petting cattle to wine tasting, there’s something for everyone, as long as you have a passion for top quality French produce. Hundreds of producers, keen to reassert their credibility following a string of scandals in the agricultural sector, make efforts to bring you closer to the people and places that make the country’s food. Small-scale farmers sit alongside larger conglomerates, their beasts and products proudly on display. If you’re a fan of red wine, rich cheese or fluffy livestock, there’s no better way to spend a late winter afternoon. The exhibition centre at Porte de Versailles is opposite the Porte de Versailles Metro station.
