Formerly O'Kubi bar, Chez Marie took on the name of its proprietor in late 2014. Located just off the Place Sainte-Marthe, the venue attracts a steady flow of regulars from Tuesday to Saturday. Its popularity is deserved: the staff are delightful, the prices unbeatable (during happy hour from 6pm-9pm, pints are €2.50, cocktails €5 and glasses of wine €2.50), and there are live events in the evenings from Wednesday to Saturday. On Thursdays in winter it's 'Be my oyster' with tastings (€16 for a dozen, €10 for a half dozen, with a glass of Sauvignon) to a background of electro. On other days, you'll find underground collectives and artists playing sets until 2am. Marie welcomes all musical styles – house, techno, hip-hop, soul and funk. The broad speturum also applies to the clientele, who hail from all backgrounds, orientations and fashion choices around the table football. Downstairs, there's a room that can be reserved for free (great for birthdays), and you can even bring your own cake. A real neighbourhood joint, with a trendy twist.
