Sof's Bar

Concealed behind an unmarked shopfront in the midst of this showiest of Parisian neighbourhoods, Sof's Bar doesn't so much stand out from the crowd as hide inside it. The Sof in question is Sofiane, the charismatic young publican responsible for converting this old watering hole (formerly his dad's) into something altogether cosier, replete with pretty curtains and red brick walls. With a smoking room in the back, savvy music playlists on the stereo and a giant screen for football matches, the bar appeals to different sorts – and the €4 happy hour pints (6-8pm) go down well with everyone.
