A gay bar for blokes with one thing on their mind, and a certain taste. You can’t miss the red sign at the end of the little Rue Simon le Franc, just behind the Centre Pompidou. Inside, a large room with a long bar, a cage on the floor and a cramped smoking room at the back. You enter, buy a drink, and leave your bags in the obligatory cloakroom (€2). Apart from that, it’s pretty good value: expect to pay €3.90 for a half pint and around €8 for a vodka Red Bull. Near the entrance, porn films are projected onto a giant screen, showing where to head for the route to the back room. If you want, you can buy what you need to survive at the lower levels before heading down – natural stimulants, cock rings, lube, chewing gum and so on.
Downstairs is a full on sex club, busy even during the week. Condom and lube distributers are omnipresent and free – safe sex is the house rule. Beyond that, anything goes, though the environs aren’t as classy or well-equipped as one might wish – one sling and one closing cabin. The clientele can be a bit variable as well – best to stick to their big event nights, listed on the club website.
