Le Baroc’ is chic and cheap. As the name suggests, this café-concert and restaurant is decorated with voluptuous swirls of baroque red: plush velvet, poppy-coloured wallpaper and leather banquettes. Hanging lamps and the zebra-print bar give it a trendy edge. At Le Baroc’ you can rock up without a reservation and nibble on tapas with friends without breaking the bank, all while listening to live music every night. Entry is free, and, depending on the day, you’ll hear jazz, klezmer, swing or chansons françaises from the little stage. Tuesdays and Thursdays feature local musicians. There are excellent tapas (pinchos, calamari, croquettes, patatas aïoli) that are good value (€10.50 for 4), boards of Spanish ham, manchego, classic paellas, and filling meat and potato brochettes (€10–15).
