Sick and tired of trying to find a Parisian bar that offers good drinks, decent music and reasonable prices? So were the team behind La Petite Chaufferie. In December 2013 they took the matter into their own hands and opened up this hip new watering hole, proclaiming it to be somewhere where you can 'eat electro and listen to organic'.
Stepping out of the hubbub of the Faubourg Saint-Denis and into the roomy, colourful venue, you'd be forgiven for thinking you'd stumbled into a vegeterian hipster's wet dream. The lunch menu is certainly veggie-friendly, despite the odd meat dish, and all the ingredients are organic and (where possible) locally sourced. It's all healthy and wholesome without being sanctimonious and boring – come dinnertime, the meat and cheese platters are rolled out as DJs set up their decks in the corner. Stop by on a weekend night, and you'll be served a good dose of tasteful electro.
Factor in the friendly service and fair prices (given the quality of the ingredients), and you've got yourself a rather neat hangout. Like the nearest metro station, La Petite Chaufferie is a Bonne Nouvelle indeed.
