Sparky little Italian tapas restaurant Marilou is also notable for its drinks list. It serves comparatively affordable cocktails (€8) made with homemade syrups and fresh ingredients – we recommend the Spicy Caipirinhia and Tequila Pepper&Mint. Wines are priced from €22 to €45 a bottle, and the list also features organic vintages. Soak it all up with cicchettis, an oversized Italian take on tapas (€7-€10) – things like stuffed mushrooms, Senegalese chicken yassa, stuffed figs wrapped in parma ham and oven-baked, or aubergine involtini. Fancy some extras? Sides like rice, polenta chips, garlic potatoes and rocket are €3-€5 and served in mismatched plates and small casserole dishes. The result is extremely satisfying: the dishes are made with great quality ingredients and the flavours are varied and surprising. There are a couple of tables inside and a couple more outside during the summer. The staff are friendly, the bill’s fair and the food is great. What are you waiting for?
