Les Ecuries

In Paris’s opulent second arrondissement, community bars like Les Ecuries are few and far between: possessed of a warm, casual ambience and eminently reasonable prices, the bar draws crowds for its weekend DJ sets (mostly house and techno) and its diverse program of amateur speakers and performers, including improv theatre troupes, live acoustic musicians and Q&As with the local artists whose work is shown on the premises. The open mic and relatively cheap beer (€6 for a pint of Super Bock) will make you feel like you’re back in your old Uni bar.
