The ‘coquetels’ (cocktails) here are made with 100% French booze and other ingredients, with no skimping on quality. While the look of the place isn’t particularly out of the ordinary, the concoctions are magical, and seem to have been dug out of yellowing recipe books bought from Seine-side bouquinistes.
Take for example the delightful Eau Fraîche, which tastes like a hit of Provence: Suze, peach liquor, Bourguignon gin, tonic water and rosemary essence (€7). Or the gentle Pina Verde with Saint James, aloe vera juice, almond milk, coconut and fresh coriander (€8). Team them with one of the excellent cheese or charcuterie boards, or something from the short lunch and dinner menus (€13.50-€16.50). With cocktails as bang-on as this, you’re likely to need to soak up that extra round with some food.
