Verdi's Italian melodrama in four acts, La Forza (or La Force du Destin, in French) is about the truths locked deep within the soul, chance encounters, and love affairs that end in tragedy. In short, you're in for a wonderful night of tear-jerking opera, intensified by dramatic interpretations by Lithuanian soprano Violeta Urmana and Argentinean lyric tenor Marcelo Alvarez (who play the cursed lovers).
The music is conducted by Philippe Jordan, the Opéra de Paris' very own maestro extraordinaire.
