Be warned, the Galerie Sakura is a crazy place. In this haven of chaos, creativity has been let loose like an unbridled horse, unleashing a massive gust of fresh air upon the Marais’ slightly pretentious art scene.
Exploring the two floors, wandering between the white and garish red walls, we can barley suppress our laughter: expect photography featuring flip-flops that look like fish, skulls customised by the most up-and-coming street artists and subversive takes on famous cultural icons - no one is safe, not even Darth Vader or Ronald McDonald. And while the works may be quite cynical – maybe even a little mean – they’re always funny and relevant.
So take care: step over the threshold of Sakura and prepare to have your mind blown (in the best possible way).
