Time Out says

This new resort in the heart of Indian Wells, with views of the Santa Rosa Mountains, boasts 215 guestrooms with that signature tropical design Tommy Bahama is known for. Guests can explore the three saltwater pools, a signature spa, a California-cuisine restaurant, boutique, 24-hour fitness center, a spacious outdoor patio and more. It’s the first resort from the Tommy Bahama brand, and it’s living up to its relaxed-meets-chic reputation.

Located on eleven acres, olive trees, citrus groves and flower gardens surround the peaceful grounds of the resort. Families will love the two bocce ball courts and eight outdoor firepits for relaxing and hanging out after a long day in the desert. Rooms feature custom Tommy Bahama + LAFCO amenities and many include private patios or balconies with garden or mountain views. Enjoy gourmet in-room coffee, fun Tommy Bahama décor like lush, green palm tree wallpaper and even better, a pillow program menu—call the front desk to place your order for an ergonomic neck pillow, memory foam queen pillow, leg elevation pillow and many more.

There are three on-site dining options to keep the family happy. Grapefruit Basil is their signature restaurant and bar, which serves brunch seven days a week, with menu items like a Dungeness crab cake benedict, buttermilk ricotta pancakes, and brioche bananas foster French toast. Chiki Palm is their poolside bar which offers snacks like hummus, guacamole and chips, halibut tacos and more, poolside. If all of that isn’t enough to get you out of your room, in-room dining is also available. If you’re able to take a break from the kids, head over to Spa Rosa, a 12,000 square-foot spa with eleven treatment rooms, four outdoor cabanas, hot and cold soaking pools, and a large menu of desert-inspired wellness treatments, that will have you feeling Zen.

Neighborhood

Indian Wells is another quiet part of the desert, known for golf resorts, an art festival and other special events. It also hosts the sixth-largest tennis tournament in the world, called the Indian Wells Masters.

Nearby

  1. The Living Desert Zoo & Botanical Gardens – One of the best Zoos in the US, the kids will love the over 500 animals and species, which sees over 500,000 visitors annually. You’ll love it’s close proximity to the resort and its early hours.
  1. La Quinta Museum – Take the kids to this petite museum that showcases the area’s rich history and cultural arts. The history of the Cahuilla Indians, as well as photos depicting the early resorts of the desert are on display and the best part is, admission as well as all museum events, are free.
  1. Tahquitz Canyon – For those who love a good hike, visit one of the most beautiful areas of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians Reservation. There’s a 60-foot waterfall, educational and cultural exhibits, a center with artifacts, an observation deck and a boutique theater room.

Time Out Tip:

Borrow a fruit picker and a basket from the front desk and pick your own fresh fruit from the over 100 citrus trees located on the resort’s property. Late night (and healthy) snack, anyone?
