The best pet-friendly hotels in Palm Springs

1. Ace Hotel and Swim Club

Ace Hotel and Swim Club is a popular destination for those seeking a contemporary aesthetic, big rooms and lots of open space for your four-legged friend to frolick around. It's close to lots of hiking trails around the San Jacintos Mountains, Joshua Tree and Desert Hot Springs – ideal if you want to spend most of your time out and about. There's also a jam-packed social events calendar, which includes poolside parties, bingo games and open mic nights to get involved with after your pooch goes to sleep. On the food and drink front, you’ll be taken care of by King’s Highway, their roadside diner, and cozy bar The Amigo Room.

The pet fee: $25 per day per pet (under 25lbs). By 'pet' they really mean dogs, but other species are welcome upon request.

2. The Saguaro Palm Springs

The Saguaro is about to turn your world technicolor with a dash of neon decor and a sprinkling of happy hour cocktails. This fun-loving establishment is the perfect place to take your pooch – provided it's not a fan of swimming (as pets aren't allowed by the pool). Feel free to leave your furry friend to rest and hit the sunl oungers, or take things to the next level by booking a cabana that comes with a mini fridge, TV, fan and an exclusive menu containing cocktail jugs and food platters. Those who would rather dine at a table can head to El Jefe, the on-site Mexican restaurant that will have you scoffing tacos to your heart’s content.

The pet fee: Up to two dogs of any size for $50 extra a day. Not permitted by the pool or in the restaurant and bar.

3. Del Marcos Hotel

This adults-only hotel is serene, spacious and most likely heaven on earth in the eyes of you and your pets. The boutique boasts a vintage mid-century look with contemporary touches, and a dynamic range of rooms including deluxe suites with kitchens and sofa areas. The saltwater pool and fire pits are out of bounds for pets, but you're free to enjoy them if one of you is able to keep an eye on your little rascal in the room.

The pet fee: $50 per pet per night, and only permitted in the downstairs guest rooms. Must stay on a leash when outside the room.
