Once an influential player in the Kansai fashion scene, men’s street apparel mag CaziCazi ceased publication a few years ago, but its trend-conscious spirit lives on through this Nakatsu boutique. Established by a former CaziCazi editor-in-chief, Ima:Zine offers a thoughtfully curated line-up of clothing representing a cross-section of what’s hot right now on the streets of Osaka.
Of particular interest are the many collaborations between local artists and designers and cutting-edge Osaka-born brands such as The Union and Boku Ha Tanoshii, as well as Ima:Zine’s original line, featuring a logo by Charlie Staunton of trendsetting LA boutique Virgil Normal. The collection’s simple and stylish shirts are of especially high quality.
Zines and other indie publications are sold in the back on the first floor, while the gallery upstairs holds photography and art exhibitions when it isn’t being used as a photo studio or workshop.
