Time Out says

Ceramicists with a love of color are sure to find an exciting class to take at Zerimar Clay, a small but busting ceramics studio in the heart of New York City. The school offers plenty of beginner-friendly pottery classes, like the Ceramics Wheel Throwing Class. In this workshop, you’ll start by getting a quick rundown of essential tools and equipment. From there, the instructor will demonstrate basic techniques and teach everyone some clay terminology. Then, it’s your turn to get your hands messy and throw some clay on the wheel yourself. Everyone can make as many attempts on the wheel as time allows, and if you end up liking a piece, you can have it glazed and fired by a Zerimar staff member.

If beautiful color is what you’re after, you can check out the Agateware Marbling class instead. This pottery technique involves swirling multiple colors of clay into beautiful shapes and unique designs. Like the other workshops, this one also starts with a brief demonstration from an expert ceramicist. Then, you’ll create your own small vessel on the potter’s wheel, using whatever colors you choose to create a marbled masterpiece that is totally one-of-a-kind. At the end of the class, you can choose to have your work fired and pick it up one week later to display at home or give as a gift to a loved one.

The workshops at Zerimar Clay have received very positive reviews from those who have attended. Those who are complete newbies to pottery report still being able to create something worth firing with the help and support of Zerimar’s knowledgeable instructors. People have also reported that the workshops make an excellent and unique team building experience, with people enjoying the creative bonding that took place outside the office.
