These stunning NYC buildings—from Flatiron to the World Trade—will have you falling in love with the city all over again
New York is a city that’s constantly changing, and it doesn’t look like construction is letting up anytime soon. Curious what the NYC will look like in 10 years? We had real estate expert Ondel Hylton create an exclusive rendering of the city of the future for us. 1. 111 West 57th Street
“This building’s currently about 1,000 feet up, so they have about 400 feet left.”
2. 155 East 50th Street
“They’re clearing the site right now for this, and one rendering has been released. This is residential, just like a lot of the buildings going up in this area. Everyone wants the Central Park views, which have been driving [the development of] this ring of buildings south of the park. Now they’re pushing into the Upper East and West Sides. A lot of people are not happy about that.”
3. 50 West 66th Street
“This gold tower will soon be the tallest building on the Upper West Side, and it will dwarf the rest.”
4. Fordham University
“They have a master plan to build up along Columbus Avenue and currently have approval to build some mixed-use buildings south of Lincoln Center.”
5. Central Park Tower
“This is currently up to 1,000 feet tall. In front of it is 220 Central Park South, which has a penthouse in contract for more than $200 million. 220 Central Park South has been incredibly secretive about its apartments.”
6. One Vanderbilt
“This giant new building will soon tower over Grand Central Terminal.”
7. Turtle Bay South
“Sheldon Solow is developing this waterfront site, called Turtle Bay South. We used models based on what the city has approved in terms of height limits, though the designs haven’t been released yet.”

8. Two World Trade Center
“This is the last structure to be built on the site. Silverstein Properties is still looking for an anchor tenant to start the building. They haven’t decided between the Norman Foster or the Bjarke Ingels design, but that will depend on the anchor tenant.”
9. Broad Street
“They just started construction on this. It’s slightly gold in color. It’s mainly office space, with some condos on the top floors.”
10. 80 South Street
“This site has been through city planning for a 1,400-foot-tall building. This image represents a structure that would exist at that height, but the final design has not been approved.”
11. Two Bridges
“The biggest skyline changes will be along the East River waterfront, especially in the Two Bridges area. One Manhattan Square is there now; below that, if full approval goes through, there will be a tower that’s even taller than that one.”
