West Indian–American Day Parade

The crowning event of the five-day West Indian Carnival Festival, the parade is one of the most colorful and vibrant happenings in the city. Marvel at the extravagant costumes, move to the music of steel drums, clap along as revelers dance in impossible shoes (or on stilts!), and fill up on Caribbean delicacies such as oxtail, jerk chicken, roti and coconut bread.
