City Point, Brooklyn’s largest shopping and dining location, has teamed up with The Makers Show (a market platform rooted in social justice that supports small businesses by connecting them to local communities), for their first Holiday Market now open in Downtown Brooklyn. The inaugural market, is co-curated by NYC Pride Marketfest and Da Spot, and designed to amplify the voices of BIPOC and LGBTQIA creatives. You’ll find a variety of makers on site including Scentual Aroma for organic skin and body care; Hedron Studios, a metal fabrication studio; Beriqisu, a colorful apparel and accessory collection made with fabrics imported from Ghana among others. Once you’ve shopped a variety of local minority-run businesses, you’ll be able to snack on food too from DeKalb Market Hall such as dessert from The Flo Kiss, grilled cheese and tomato soup from Creamline, spicy Chinese savories from Mr. Lin, and Polish dumplings from the Pierogi Boys.
