This institution in the Boogie Down borough celebrates its ruby anniversary with a blowout bash. Since opening in 1971, the museum has worked to promote the work of Bronx artists, and this fete is no exception. Performances will happen throughout the building: You can catch Bobby Sanabria’s Latin jazz in the galleries, or DJ Lightbolt in the lobby. Meanwhile, artist Art Jones will stage a multimedia installation on the Grand Concourse, and video clips from the museum’s collection will be screened. Don’t forget to grab a bite from Fauzia’s Heavenly Delights, a food truck selling Caribbean eats.
