Time Out says

Attending an Oktoberfest bash on the beach may sound odd since it’s fall in NYC and we’re supposed to be sporting sweaters, scarves and leather jackets right now. Nonetheless, our autumn has been pretty toasty, so you might as well prost a beer or two by the ocean while you still can.

The hosts of this nontraditional Oktoberfest celebration are none other than the ultimate party throwers of Riis Park Beach Bazaar and offseason restaurant The Meatup Grill. They’re promising eats, beats and brews during their fourth annual fall party held at the Bay 9 Pavilion at Riis Park Beach. The bash kicks off on Saturday, October 13 with tunes provided by The Supertones and DJ Brandon K. The good times roll into Sunday, October 14 with music by Locals Rule Band and DJ Alexander Orange Drink.

German cuisine such as sausage, applekraut, german pretzels are on the menu along with The Meatup’s regular items and there will be a selection of German and European beer on tap. It all goes down this weekend from noon to 5pm, and, oh, did we mention it’s free to attend?
