Supreme Court Doma decision celebration at Stonewall Inn

Revelers celebrated DOMA's demise in the West Village (slide show)

Mayoral hopeful Christine Quinn and Edie Windsor—a marshal at this coming weekend'sPride March and the woman at the center of the historic Supreme Court decision that overturned DOMA yesterday—were among those who gathered outside the Stonewall Innto celebrate a giant step forward for LGBT rights in this country. Celebrants began convening almost immediately after yesterday's SCOTUS announcement, and by the timea planned rally organized by the Stonewall Democrats started at 5:30pm, the crowd had swelled into the thousands, with chants of "Thank you, Edie!" filling the air.

Thank you indeed, Ms. Windsor. We can't wait to see you at the March on Sunday.
